1. What is your title? Describe what you do.
I am a Clinical Supervisor in the High Point clinic. I help lead and facilitate initial assessments with families of new potential clients, as well as, oversee my current client’s services, ensuring the effective implementation of ABA therapy programs across various settings. I also supervise the Behavior Technicians on my client’s caseloads, while also maintaining
communication with families and other professionals.
“I love that I get to work with amazing people, who I can collaborate with and who aren’t afraid to jump in and help whenever, wherever and for whatever!”
2. What drew you to BCPS by Behavioral Framework?
I found the company through a colleague who I knew through a family friend about 6 years ago. I had just transitioned from working with young adults with varying IDD on a college campus and wanting to remain in the field. I applied for a behavior technician position looking for a change in pace, had my first interview and fell in love with ABA. It didn’t take long after that before I began my grad school journey to become a BCBA.
3. What are the most rewarding parts of your job?
I get to see the growth and change over time in each and every one of the clients I have had the privilege of working with. To see a child go from non-verbal communication (PECS) to carrying a conversation with peers in the school setting is the most amazing experience! It may have taken several years, but it happened and I got to be a small part of their victory testimony!
4. What advice would you give to someone looking to pursue a role like yours? Are there specific character traits or skills/certifications they should possess?
If you love engaging with children, matching their energy, and seeing them thrive in communication and social skills- you will love ABA! You have to approach each day with an open mind and enthusiastic mindset ready to take on whatever the day may thrown your way- meet them where they are!
5. What do you like best about BCPS by Behavioral Framework?
I love that I get to work with amazing people, who I can collaborate with and who aren’t afraid to jump in and help whenever, wherever and for whatever!
6. Would you recommend someone to work at BCPS by Behavioral Framework? And why?
I definitely would recommend others to join the team because it is so rewarding! The day to day challenges can be tough, but once a client builds up their communication skills and can independently navigate their daily needs/ wants, things take a positive turn so quickly and you get a front row seat to watch the impact they now have in their community!
